The development direction of radar technology has always been to pursue higher detection range and stronger anti-interference ability. However, in modern warfare, the emergence of stealth technology has made it more difficult for radar to detect targets. To solve this problem, scientists are constantly exploring new materials and technologies, among which ferrite absorbing materials have become an important force leading the revolution of stealth technology.

The research on ferrite absorbing materials started earlier and their application time is also relatively long. According to their different structures, they can be divided into two types: spinel ferrite absorbing materials and hexagonal ferrite absorbing materials. The preparation process of spinel ferrite is simple and has the longest application history, but its magnetic permeability is low, and the relative dielectric constant and relative magnetic permeability are difficult to match, resulting in poor absorption performance. However, NEC Corporation has made improvements to ferrite absorbing materials and achieved good absorbing effects. In a specific frequency range, its absorption performance can reach -10dB or even -20dB, while the total thickness is only 4.7mm, and the mass per unit area is relatively light. This provides strong support for the development of stealth technology.

In fact, in the field of fighter jet manufacturing, ferrite absorbing materials have played an important role. For example, Lockheed Martin in the United States used a large amount of ferrite absorbing materials in the development of the F-117A fighter jet. The absorbing coatings made of these materials are widely used on the surface of the fuselage, making fighter jets almost imperceptible within the radar detection range. This not only improves the stealth performance of the fighter jet, but also greatly enhances its combat capability.

However, despite the significant application and research progress of ferrite absorbing materials abroad, the research and application level of them by domestic research institutions is still relatively low. Taking the frequency range of 8-18GHz (X, Ku band) as an example, the electromagnetic wave reflectivity in China can only reach a level of -10dB. This indicates that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the field of ferrite absorbing materials.

In order to further promote the research and application of ferrite absorbing materials, we should increase scientific research efforts and improve the level of material properties and preparation processes. Only in this way can we better conceal our military strength and reduce the risk of being spied upon by the enemy. Invisible technology is of great significance in modern warfare, as it can effectively protect the safety of our military equipment and improve our survival capabilities on the battlefield.

In short, ferrite absorbing materials, as an important force leading the revolution of stealth technology, are of great significance for us to master advanced stealth technology. Although the research and application of ferrite absorbing materials in China are relatively lagging behind, we should recognize their enormous potential and development prospects.
