Graphite material is currently known as one of the high-temperature resistant materials. Its melting point is 3850 ℃± 50 ℃, and its boiling point is 4250 ℃. It has the smallest loss of graphite under 7000 ℃ ultra-high temperature arc for 10 seconds, with a graphite loss of 0.8% by weight.

Graphite material has good thermal shock resistance, that is, when the temperature suddenly changes, the thermal shrinkage coefficient is small, so it has good thermal stability and will not crack during rapid temperature changes.

Graphite products have good chemical stability at room temperature, and can resist acid, alkali, and organic solvent corrosion. The smoothness of graphite products is similar to that of molybdenum disulfide, with a friction coefficient less than 0.1. Its smoothness varies with the size of the flakes, with larger flakes resulting in lower friction coefficients and better smoothness.

It can be seen that the high temperature resistance of graphite is very outstanding. Waste products made from graphite have good thermal and electrical conductivity. Compared to ordinary materials, its thermal and electrical conductivity is quite high. 4 times higher than stainless steel, 2 times higher than carbon steel, and 100 times higher than ordinary non-metallic materials.

Scope of application of graphite material:

1. Graphite products can release far-infrared radiation after heating.

2. Graphite is widely used in the electrical industry as a positive electrode for electrodes, brushes, carbon rods, carbon tubes, mercury rectifiers, graphite gaskets, telephone parts, coatings for television tubes, and so on.

3. Graphite has good chemical stability. Specially processed graphite has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, and low permeability, and is widely used in the production of heat exchangers, reaction tanks, condensers, combustion towers, absorption towers, coolers, heaters, filters, pumps, and other equipment.

4. Graphite has excellent neutron deceleration performance and was first used as a moderator in atomic reactors. Uranium graphite reactors are currently the most widely used type of atomic reactor.

5. Graphite is also used in the defense industry to manufacture nozzles for solid fuel rockets, nose cones for missiles, components for space travel equipment, insulation materials, and radiation protection materials.

6. Graphite can prevent boiler scaling. Relevant unit tests have shown that adding a certain amount of graphite powder (approximately per ton of water) to water can prevent boiler surface scaling. In addition, graphite coating on metal chimneys, roofs, bridges, and pipelines can prevent corrosion and rust.

7. With the continuous development of science and technology, people have also developed many new uses for graphite. Flexible graphite products. Flexible graphite, also known as expanded graphite, is a new type of graphite product developed in the past. The United States has successfully researched flexible graphite sealing materials, solving the problem of leakage in atomic energy valves. Subsequently, Germany, Japan, and France have also begun to develop and produce them. This product not only possesses the characteristics of natural graphite, but also has special flexibility and elasticity. Therefore, it is an ideal sealing material. Widely used in industrial fields such as petrochemicals and atomic energy.
